    Not surprised!!

This is Knight's way of doing business. He has an established pattern of behavior in this area.

It can only be cleansed with the removal of Sheriff Tom Knight and Chief Deputy Kurt Hoffman from the Sarasota Sheriff's Office.

    • FIRST COURT BATTLE: The last court battle was between Sheriff Tom Knight and the chief judge of the 12th Judicial Circuit. The appeals court subsequently ruled against Knight, stating that a chief judge has the legal right to tell Sheriff Knight if, when and where Knight must provide security in and for court buildings in Sarasota County.

    • NEXT UP: LEGISLATIVE BATTLE: Joe Gruters has now proposed a bill that will take that historical authority away from a chief judge and, instead, will give it to a sheriff, not just in Sarasota County, but statewide throughout Florida. If Bills H337, H639 or S762 pass, then Knight will be able to legally overrule a chief judge in determining if, when and where security must be provided in court buildings.

    • BACKGROUND: In the previous court battle that Knight lost, Knight obstinately said it was his legal prerogative to completely withdraw security from some court buildings, thus allowing all armed civilians to enter those court buildings. As a result, armed people who did not have gun permits were allowed to enter those court buildings because Knight negligently abandoned those security checkpoints -- until an appellate court ordered Knight to reinstate security.

In an age of mass shootings, why is Knight so hellbent on allowing guns into court buildings? Please feel free to ask Joe Gruters and Kurt Hoffman for more political and legal commentary on this unfolding knightmare.

John, it's interesting that you were granted a TS security clearance by the FBI, but Tom Knight was denied a security clearance. Please don't answer the following question, but it is posed simply as food for thought: Why did the FBI deny Knight a security clearance? After all, Knight is an elected sheriff and he got the financial support of Eric Robinson and the political support of Joe Gruters, so what kind of greasy dirt does Knight have clinging to him to cause the FBI to deny him a security clearance?

    Sad

Knight is nothing more than a traffic cop with political connections. He will do the bidding of the GOP and Benderson until he retires.

The devil is in the details (in the proposed bills)

The proposed 3 bills are sneakily and craftily worded, so if no one is paying attention, then the bills would invariably pass with flying colors in the legislature. Words matter, and with the way the bills are craftily written, they would give the sheriff a power that has historically belonged to the courts. It's also very crafty of the unholy quad (tOm kNiGhT, Kurt Hoffman, Eric Robinson & Joe Gruters) to have three different people submitting 3 identically worded bills, so if one bill gets shot down in the legislature, then the other bills still have a chance of passing.

I have no idea if the court system is grossly political, but Knight and Hoffman are both sneakily political, which is why these 3 bills have been created simultaneously. Conversely, the court system is made up of a bunch of lawyers... and the legislative branch is made up of a bunch of lawyers... so maybe the court system will also have enough political clout to shoot down Knight's and Hoffman's ingeniously devilish plans. Again, WORDS are important and the devil is in the details of the 3 identical bills.

Judicial attorney's found out about Knight's underhanded and devious plan... and so the attorney's helped the committee to "rewrite the proposed law"... and thus, the chief judge retains decision-making authority over Sheriff Tom Knight. LOL

Hello Mr. Thomas M. Knight and Herr Kurt Hoffman! LOL

Knight and Hoffman are wickedly devious.
