The current brown and taupe uniform combination is not an issue, as the only Florida Statutory requirement; cited below, pertains to vehicles and motorcycles, and MDPD vehicles are already in compliance. As to the badge, just look at yours; there, prominently embossed upon it is the Sheriff's Star; within in it, the Florida State Seal; with the words DEPUTY SHERIFF inscribed above and below the Seal. Besides, our Badge is unique, don't you think?

Let's not get stuck on minutia, and move swiftly to elect the first Dade County Sheriff since 1967. Tuesday, November 3, 2020, the date for the next Presidential Election must be our target date to elect the Sheriff. PBA get on it!

FSS 30.46( 1) The color combination of forest green and white is adopted as the official color for use on the motor vehicles and motorcycles used by the various sheriffs of Florida and their deputies.

Time to change the brown too. It will be a sheriff's office like the rest, so dress accordingly. This has been the same polyester bullshit since 1950. Time for better more modern materials. You supervisors can keep the polyester and shiny shoes.

Steadman can argue that we've been saving on quality uniforms for over 20 plus years since the other departments started wearing the polos and cargo pants.
