Defund FDLE
FDLE investigated Sweetwater PD for a scam in which officers were seizing the citizen's vehicles for the officers's personal use, and the theft of a whopping 7,000 items, including firearms, from the evidence room of this small department. FDLE went public and labeled Sweetwater Police Department as as "criminal organization."
That was over three years ago. Case still perpetually open. Once again the bad guys win thanks to the inept FDLE.
What a waste of taxpayer money.

The real Fraud is the money that goes to FDLE for the "extra counter-terror intelligence". It's such B.S. and just a pathetic way for FDLE to play on the paranoia of the public after these events happened. FDLE has done nothing to prevent anything, and every single event (including the kid that had signs of wanting to kill people in Sebring) is just another FDLE failure. The money they get is most likely going to cars for Supervisors, equipment, and other cases such as theft and other cases that don't save lives.
FDLE has never been more ineffective and disrespected by the Sheriff's and P.D.'s... and now is a place of employment for the losers and retired old-farts looking to cruise in their old age.
Don't expect results anytime soon on Sweetwater... they don't care to police themselves. Unless, of course, they don't like the guy they assigned the case to, then they'd roll the bus over him over and over.. but since we haven't heard anything, most likely it's a guy that just rides the clock and the bosses let him/her do it.

Agree, FDLE is a joke! It's been a few decades now since they were respected. No surprise here.

Don't expect anything to change until they bring in some new, fresh blood and get rid of the current commisioner. FDLE needs someone with experience, knowledge on how to lead, someone with vision, and most of all, QUALIFIED to run a huge organization like this and doesn't need to learn on the job/on the fly.
A fresh face isn't looking to settle scores for him and anyone else that feels like they can get his ear. A new guy is only going to look to improve, advance, and respect everyone already there.
I have a feeling this is coming very soon.

More like the business of spying on Rick Scott's political enemies.
