Question Do FHP troopers outrank city officers & deputies?

The question is based on the following:

If troopers outrank city officers and county deputies, then please answer the following:
    • Can a trooper arrive on-scene at a bank robbery and "take over" the investigation from an officer or a deputy?
    • Can a trooper arrive on-scene at a domestic battery in a home and "take over" the investigation from an officer or a deputy?
    • Can a trooper arrive on-scene at a retail store theft and "take over" the investigation from an officer or a deputy?
    • Can a trooper arrive on-scene at an embezzling case at a corporation and "take over" the investigation from an officer or a deputy?
    • Can a trooper arrive on-scene at a murder scene in a public park and "take over" the investigation from an officer or a deputy?
    • And so on...

Can a trooper legally "take over" any of the above investigations from city officers or county deputies? Exactly HOW do troopers outrank city officers and county deputies? Pray tell?

Yes absolutely and probably do a hell of a better job. Some Troopers were previously city cops and deputies. If you go to the Turnpike from Miami to Ocala Troopers are the only agency that responds to everything. Yes everything! Is not that difficult. It’s common sense when it comes to doing more than crashes. YES Troopers are better than city or county. If they would ever fix the pay and pay Troopers top 3 in the state, you will find out your answer. The city and county would be hurting. FHP would be the number 1 agency in the state.

We police the police, that's part of our mission. We cant take over their investigations at will, but we set the rules on the highways. We work for the governor and as proven, he can remove any sheriff.

We are the last line of defense between the citizens and corruption.

    Police the Police.

No, all are law enforcement officers, the only thing that differs is jurisdiction a city officer is confined to the city limits, a country officer is confined to the county limits and a state officer is confined to the state limits.

Other than that they all have the same training, enforcement and arrest powers.

Not the same training. The county where I work, some deputies have their own revolver and cant barely walk. They also wear shorts pants, whatever they feel like.

    No on every single count.

However, one caveat is that citizens believe it is yes on all counts, especially northerns who come from states have have "state police departments."

The Florida legislature neutered FHP's statutory parameters and the Florida Sheriffs Association keeps FHP statutorily deballed. That's why FHP is a "patrol" and not a "police" agency. It says so right in the title

Absolutely and unequivocally - NO. No possible scenario exists (outside Hollywood and the minds of 16-23 year old mall ninjas) that would allow such a thing to happen.

FHP. Wouldn’t know what the heck to do on any call that’s not a sig 4. They are not the state police that would be FDLE. Highway patrol is just that a patrol that works the highway and writes tickets all day.

They don’t take over real cases they ask sheriffs and city cops to handle anything that is not an accident.
