If there is evidence of internal criminal corruption, inside a municipal police department or at an elected sheriff's office, then does FHP conduct the investigation to "police the police"?

    Pray tell?

Just keep your stuff in house, the moment you hit the road, you will respect and treat everyone equally.

Troopers policing the police that’s helerious. They can’t police themselves. They hire gang members and girls that are pregnant and have kids while in the academy. But what did you expect being paid 30 grand a year lmao. Troopers are a joke in this state. They can’t do anything besides handle an accident. They can’t handle a robbery, burglary, homicide, or even a theft. They would have no clue what to do if it does involve a crash or a citation. Fhp joke of law enforcement in Florida.

Seems FHP just worked a murder suicide in a rest area in Santa Rosa county on I-10 not too ago. Anybody can do an incident report and turn things over to an investigator.

    For a murder:
    • Forensics should be called-out to the scene to fully document it and to preserve anything of evidentiary value.
    • A detective should be called-out to take-charge of the scene and to begin the investigation.

Does FHP have a forensics unit and detectives?

FDLE does. THI are technically detectives, they have the skills to follow the case. Not rocket science, cell phone records, interviews, finger prints, etc. The only reason why we dont do it, is because we have other specialties. Just like you wouldnt expect a road deputy to work hit and run manslaughter, nor follow up on bear poachers.
