Why do we give out our radio numbers at the beginning of our shifts?

Every time an emergency button goes off, communications has NO idea who it is. Why?

Clearly a rookie asking dumb questions. But ok... I’ll tell you why because you sound ignoranT. It goes off on a different system.....The dispatcher immediately ask for the unit with the emergency while searching the radio number on the cad system, or asking the bridge to look it up on another system. That’s right and also because you haven’t Anounced arrival that makes it harder for her to find the idiot who accidentally pressed the button. In my 22 years here I don’t remember anyone really using the button because they needed it . It’s usually a stupid mistake . I’ve never relied on that shit nor should you . discipline yourself and you’ll be ok.
