    Ortiz remember writing this at the FOP hall? We know you were there.

    On August 15, 2018 in Jupiter, Florida at a union meeting, Sergeant Tommy Reyes stated to a group of Miami Police Officers that he is tired of the corruption of our union.

    Sergeant Reyes said he is going to the Miami-Dade State Attorneys Office because he stated that Captain Javier Ortiz went to a roll call and gave insider information regarding mediation between the union and the City of Miami. He also stated that he has committed a felony.

    Captain Javier Ortiz is one of the most rogue leaders we have in our police department. Not only is he in a very powerful position, but he has significant influence over the rank and file. The purpose of this complaint is to shield those of us that want to come forward in regards to the insider information he gave at a roll call. Sergeant Tommy Reyes stated that he is going to the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office because since Captain Ortiz is the District Director of the Fraternal Order of Police, he is protected and the police department can’t come after him administratively.

    By filing this complaint, it will allow the police department to ensure that Sergeant Tommy Reyes as well as all of us have the protection to tell the department how Captain Ortiz gave confidential information of a mediation which Sergeant Tommy Reyes says is a felony. The rank and file that was a witness to these statements are:
