It rained yesterday and its the Sheriff’s fault. This is stupid. Carlos was a great guy and no stupid psych exam by some quack psychologist was going to do squat. Get over yourselves and be thankful you dont suffer like Carlos must have suffered. There ain’t nothing anyone can do when there are no signs. People internalize it and then pop.

Nothing happens when you go to EAP. That is private counseling, the agency doesn’t get to know anything. Nothing happens to your career after that. Same for CISM, they are there to listen, not get you fired. You are naive and ignorant, clearly you have never used these services, I have. Your loss. And you seem angry.

They don't get to know what you say in there, bur they do know and RECORD in your file that you went. They also follow up with the counselor on a "general review" but not a diagnosis so it doesn't violate HIPPA. Then you get the looks and stares from brass. Then you mysteriously get passed over for promotions and good assignments and special details. Yeah, we all know how it works.

Any services provided by the department are not 100% confidential. They have a line item in their budget, that needs to be explained?? Yes, their are sign's we all should notice, with one another?? So, pointing the finger at any ONE person, is stupid! One taking their own life is a very selfish act! You leave behind, loved one that hurt all the more. Getting on here, some may be trying to have or get understanding?? I don't know! Blame ones, that shouldn't be. Again, I don't know. We've all been to that dark place, we just can't explain. Some come out, sorry to say to many don't. Police work is very stressful. Some drink, some smack around their family. Some work it out in the gym. We all deal with stress differently. Instead of talking sh!t to one another, (MAYBE) try to learn for this?

Then talk about the pressures Bob puts you guys under. YOu know, to produce, to make onscene time as short as possible and how that interferes with your duty to protect and serve and to do your due diligence and so on. Talk about that. NO, Bob's not personally responsible for anyone who commits suicide. But he sure doesn't help matters, especially when it's guys trying to do their best, to really be public servants, and he just won't let them be. Talk.

Well the non-quota quotas are BS. We are supposed to stop people randomly and question them for no real reason so we can document that we did that? This is America, not Germany. I would never off myself, but violating people's rights because Bob says so is a bunch of BS. These people know it's BS, we know it's BS but we do it anyway because "that's our job" and we are getting scored on how often we do it? Is that the "1. Do your job" you are referring too? How many write BS citations to keep their numbers up? Lots. How many push a few buttons so they can make an arrest to keep their stats up? Lots.
