Read it again. That's not what it says.

That photo of Peterson with Ty Thompson was the ceremony not too long ago when Peterson was presented with an award for SRO of the Year.

He earned that award by keeping secrets that made Ty Thompson and the City of Parkland look good.

The opinion of the court is that the lives of inmates and mental patients are the populations that are required to be saved by law enforcement.

Think about this. A new deputy with 29 years left has been given a pass to just hang today, everyday and an entire career if he/she so chooses.

Seems like the first verdict from the broward circuit judge was based more on emotion.

The federal judge points out some serious points in favor of the cowards, one which we all know is the “MAY” go in option.

    Nice job Amazing leader!

The police have no constitutional requirement to protect anyone. The SCOTUS has already ruled on this a number of times.

That is exactly what it says. Same as the courts rules in the Pulse attack that police had no legal duty to protect the victims.

    Whatever

You can say there’s no legal duty to act but in fact the moral of this entire story is that there is, in fact, a duty to act. Because if you don’t act, the consequences are worse than if you did.

The worse thing that can happen to you if you act is you get killed. What Scott Peterson is going through right now, and will be going through for the rest of his life is far worse.

He has dragged himself and his family through a living hell of humiliation and despair by not acting. He has to live with the consequences of his actions every day he wakes up for he rest of his life. He brought shame to himself, to his district, and to the entire, once proud but no more, Broward Sheriff’s office.

The blame may not all be on him but he will bear the brunt of it forever. It’s sad and pathetic.

Yeah, no. Being dead is pretty much always worse.

Peterson is still living in the top 1% of all humans on the planet right now. Who gives a damn what strangers think about you? Aren’t we all cops and used to people hating us anyway?

I support Peterson and can’t say for certain that I would have acted different because I wasn’t there. All of this arm chair quarterbacking, chest thumping, and people that can’t think without the benefit of hindsight are full of shit.

The reality is Peterson likely couldn’t have saved anyone that day. If he had acted heroically he could have possibly even made the situation worse. Nobody knows! To say otherwise is truly foolish.

One thing that should have been looked into much more closely was the 2 school staff rewinding the video. Is there technological evidence that this rewind really happened? Or, was the camera already on a delay in case there was something that they needed to manage? If they did rewind, their reasoning for doing so was most likely based on their interest in how Cruz entered the campus and how that detail would reflect on them. Something stinks here. The reason that they gave made no sense. They were sent to the camera to determine the present location of the suspect. They should be charged with evidence tampering.
