That's partially true. Liberals have no problem with liars. Snipes just tried the martyr thing and it didn't go so well for her. The democrats were also glad to see her go. Even Broward democrats don't want the "may" policy. The parents of criminals who benefit from no arrests are really a small population. Now, what's important is that there needs to be a good DEMOCRATIC challenger. Springs has someone who is a formidable candidate-and black with no known baggage. In this climate, it would be a mistake to to focus only on a republican candidate if it does drag out to an election.
