Like Trump it will totally depend on if he can strike a chord with the voters in Pinellas. His position on ending marijuana enforcement will likely endear him to many voters since 71% of the people in Pinellas voted for medical marijuana. Ending marijuana enforcement would also bring a large increase in tourism which will appeal to many local businesses. So it seems to me that at least some of you should consider what he is offering the public and focus on addressing that rather than continuing the childish game of calling him names. All that does is make PCSO look like immature children that should not be permitted to play with guns.
. Are you really comparing trump to Crazy James. Trump was voted in as president. James is a whack job. Anything he says is a bunch of bs. You’re not the smartest person if you think just because he supports marijuana legalization he’ll get voted in. Look at his fb. He hates cops and citizens don’t want a leader who is a liar that hates cops.

It is a simple fact. If Pinellas County and St. Pete Beach were the only beach in Florida where a tourist could fire up a joint on the beach and not have to worry about some cop hauling them off to jail or harassing them, everybody that comes to Florida for vacation that smokes pot would come to St. Pete Beach instead of any other beach resort area in the state. If Clearwater PD followed suit, they too could enjoy the increase. It could literally double the amount of tourism as well as increase tourism during off seasons. That would increase tax revenue for the county and bring economic growth. Imagine not having to risk your life searching cars for a plant anymore. That alone seems worth the price of admission.

I just ran some quick stats. About 120,000,000 tourists visit Florida each year.

More than half of American adults have tried marijuana at least once in their lives, according to the study by the University of Miami. Nearly 55 million of them, or 22 percent, currently use it - the survey defines "current use" as having used marijuana at least once or twice in the past year. Close to 35 million are what the survey calls "regular users," or people who use marijuana at least once or twice a month.

If 22% of that 120 million current visitors to Florida use pot regularly, you could count on most if not all of them coming to Pinellas County. That would be roughly another 26,000,000 tourists "highly" motivated to come to Pinellas County rather than anywhere else. That means that approximately 21% of all of the people that came to Florida would now be most likely to come here rather than go anywhere else. Currently Pinellas County counts tourists by using Hotel room sales. in 2017 they counted about 5,200,000 rooms booked. If even HALF of that 26,000,000 tourists that use pot decided to come here instead of anywhere else in Florida, that would mean that tourism here would triple. Not double, but triple.

I was reading this and trying to figure out what you guys are talking about. Looking at posts on Facebook by James, he is not supporting the legalization of pot. Instead he is saying that the day he takes office he will stop all pot enforcement by the PCSO.

Just what we want in this county is to attract all the pot heads from all over the country. No thanks pal, tourism is just fine the way it is
