No worries. Director JP already suspended the officers, and their lieutenant. He also went there personally and yelled at them. News conference soon.

Some of your facts are off. The Lieutenant was not suspended, he was demoted and transferred to South District midnights. He threw a chair at the officers and threatened to slap the officer that kicked the subject. He also ROD two officers on the squad, who were not only not on scene, but were off on pre-approved leave. During his speech to media he un-deputized himself, while apologizing to JD Patterson who was not present, and insisted that he has "concerns" and "has a lot more questions to answers" while becoming watery eyed.

I see nothing wrong. We are allowed to strike subjects that are handcuffed if they are hitting, biting, spitting, or resisting in anyway with violence. It would be excessive if it was a countinous beating. This was only one strike to prevent more spitting. All the way qru

In response to this mdpd is also going to have a policy against officers spitting on subjects and striking them for no reason.
