Well I do count myself as one of those that caused LEO's to adopt no chase policies. You see, when the rest of us are driving down the road and we see you chasing someone at twice the speed limit while you dart in and out of traffic and blow through traffic lights, we see TWO idiots. The one being chased and the one chasing. We are smart enough to recognize that BOTH of you are being reckless and unsafe. We understand that either of you could lose control, miss a turn, not see a pedestrian or have someone pull out in front of you. And for what? A stolen car?

Wasn't it sheriff Gualtieri who stated that most of these stolen cars had keys still in them? If they left their keys in the ignition the owner deserves it. Some of these cars are also rental cars that have not been returned on time. Regardless, it's just a car. Likely an insured car. So really you are just endangering all of our lives to save a multi-billion dollar company like State Farm or Geico earn more profits.

Most of these guys are not stripping these cars. They only like to drive them. They usually hide them during the day. I can't tell you how many times I see a PCSO car sitting in a parking lot doing nothing. I passed four of them on the way home today. Three within 4 blocks of each other in a zero crime area. Can't you guys comb the apartment buildings where these kids hide these cars during the day? Wouldn't that be a lot safer? But no, you would rather play fast a furious and risk my family's lives and risk my kids lives.


The truth is you act like a bunch of teenagers that can't wait to get into a car chase. As soon as you see an opportunity to chase somebody it is like a 12 year old with a video game. You become dangerous, violent and out of control missiles on the road. So, yes, we the people want it stopped and if you want to race cars for a living, you should have become a race car driver. But don't pretend that you do it to protect us, because we all know what a lie that is.
