It makes no difference that other agencies do this, it's child exploitation for a campaign. Charity isn't charity when it's reciprocal. Guarantee that whatever is spent on this event could voluntarily be collected by 5000 employees with a minor paycheck deduction throughout the year. If Q-Man is willing to haul azz in an emergency, he can show up wearing a fig leaf and a helmet. Hell, we'll take the deputy in the red outfit with the sandals if he can get it done. The "bravery" that's needed in "not the safest city in Florida" is LE who will defy the expectations of command.

So true, and what is the PBA doing for him? He is a long time PBA member and apparently he got punished to the 10th degree and not a peep from the PBA.

Why would you ever think that the PBA would do anything for one of its members? There was more than 20 years of a do-nothing track record and that’s why we got rid of them. Don’t kid yourself, Patten is a pu—y. Being on SWAT doesn’t make him a hero. They have armored vehicles and work in safer situations then road patrol deputies. Hell they don’t even enter on search warrants anymore, just surround and call out.
