So true. The problem with CORE is it should be a make up of maybe four people at the most, not a group as large as a patrol squad. This group really hurts patrol and keeps it down and short as usual. Patrol is the backbone of the agency and it seems this agency just isn't big enough to support a CORE group without causing shortages in patrol. Patrol at this agency is always at the bottom of concern, but in reality is the most important.

It's true certain people don't like working for certain supervisors and with officers. Hopefully instead of talking smack about each other and squads, maybe we can unite and convince admin to let us have our normal shift bid.
Admin is known to come on here and read these posts. So, to the admin reading this, let us keep what little morale is left and keep the old shift bid. It will truly be devastating to morale and the patrol division or bureau, unit, whatever it's called this month if this new process goes through. Seniority is really the only thing we have, let's not take that away

It has nothing to do with the core officers themselves. There are simply too many of them. Patrol should be the priority of any law enforcement agency. How the hell did we hire so many people over the past few years and still average 6 per patrol squad? It's bullshit and it needs to change.

The shift bid might reflect six, but half the time squads are at 3 to 4 people working due to so many people calling out "sick". It's the same people calling out, nothing will change

Owners of thoroughbreds never stop their horses mid-race, every ten seconds, to remind the horse and jockey how to run, where the finish line is, or that it’d be good to finish first. Why? It would slow them down. Only an idiot would do this.
Unfortunately, this is the exact style management that we have at this agency. Everything will be running smoothly with moral up, and then suddenly, we have to stop and make a change. It's almost as if this is done intentionally to destroy what tiny bit of moral we have left at this place. This agency will never have employee's that are vested or have a desire to excel. It will always be this way until there is a major culture change.
