Only about 2-3% (or less) of the 1000 SSO employees will openly involve themselves with SSO election politics (that’s about 10-12 employees, at most). The other 980+ employees are too scared (or wise?) to put their necks on the line for a sheriff’s election.

The above means three things for you:
    • 1. SSO employees are statistically insignificant to a sheriff’s election (that’s in technical parlance).
    • 2. Sheriff Knight knows it.
    • 3. That explains why SSO old timers explain that without a publicized arrest or indictment of a sitting sheriff, it is statistically impossible to electorally unseat him via using SSO employees.
    • 4. The sheriff has his command staff who will openly politic for his re-election bid.

Those unique characteristics rise to the top in law enforcement. Outsiders (civilians) do not see it, but insiders (LEOs) see it clearly because we have to live with it. Look at the leadership histories of the command staff of the Sarasota Sheriff's Office, beginning with Sheriff Tom Knight:

    • The FBI denied Sheriff Tom Knight a Top Secret security clearance, due to his immoral proclivities. He was also arrested by Venice police officers for disorderly conduct when he got sloppy drunk and emotionally out-of-control over "woman issues." He subsequently got into a violent fight. It shows his past (and present) emotional outbursts in public. Then earlier this year (2018), Knight was caught (1) undermining the school board budget and (2) calling other elected officials names, while he was on-duty and getting paid with tax dollars. Knight remains defiant (that's par for the course) and remains angry that the Herald-Tribune newspaper "wrote him up" on it for everyone to read. Here is the article:
      https://www.heraldtribune.com/news/2...superintendent

    • Colonel Kurt Hoffman failed a polygraph test about stealing from multiple victims and from multiple employers. Hoffman confessed to:
      - stealing pornography from a store
      - stealing a boat from a citizen
      - stealing other things from past employers
      - stealing gasoline while working as a reserve deputy for the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office (twice).
Knight still promoted Hoffman. Here is the article:
      https://www.scribd.com/document/3224...t-Hoffman-News

    • Captain John Walsh was investigated for screwing another deputy's wife. The deputy caught Walsh in bed with her and he filed a complaint against the agency. (1) While under oath during an IA investigation, Walsh denied it during three separate interviews. That's a lot of lying. (2) Then Walsh then got Detective Mark Macale to lie as a false alibi. Getting another sworn officer to lie under oath for you is about as crooked and dirty as it gets around here. And that's only for those who are caught (the tip of the iceberg). However, Macale finally cracked and told the truth to the investigator - and he admitting that he lied as a false alibi for Walsh - but Walsh continued lying (because he didn't know that Macale had cracked). Balkwill promoted Walsh - and then Knight promoted Walsh to captain. Here are the articles about it:
      https://www.scribd.com/document/3214...ohn-Walsh-News

    • Ron Locke has retired, but it's important to dredge-up his connection to Knight. Sergeant Chris Iorio (retired) and Deputy Kevin Sugg told Knight that Locke impregnated a juvenile female - and then made her abort the baby, which pissed off the mother even more. Knight refused to investigate the crime, so FDLE conducted the investigation. Here is the newspaper article:
      http://www.heraldtribune.com/article...ICLE/120619799
Then Knight arranged for the two whistle blowing deputies to be suspended without pay on trumped up allegations (as revenge). The article is here:
      https://www.questia.com/newspaper/1P...ed-by-sergeant

    • Captain Kevin McElyea failed a lie detector tests about sleeping with another man's wife (the husband caught them in bed together). McElyea denied it, so the husband secretly recorded McElyea discussing how to suppress or hide the evidence - and the husband gave the secret recording to Knight. Knight flushed the case and promoted McElyea to captain. Here is the lie detector test:
      http://s1179.photobucket.com/user/Pe...rOath.gif.html

    • During a traffic stop, Sergeant Dan Tutko asked a K-9 deputy to lie by claiming that the search dog "alerted" to drugs during a sniff test (by walking the dog around the driver's car) – when, in fact, the dog did NOT alert. Technically, if the dog alerts, then it gives deputies the legal authority to search the car for drugs, without the owners consent. Fortunately, the K-9 deputy refused to lie for Tutko – and instead, the K-9 deputy reported Tutko's actions to Sheriff Tom Knight. So what was the outcome? Knight imposed no punishment on Tutko. Instead, Knight punished the whistleblowing K-9 deputy and kicked him out of the K-9 unit as political retaliation. Then Knight infamously promoted Tutko to lieutenant. The Herald-Tribune newspaper article is here:
      http://www.heraldtribune.com/article...falsify-search

Narcissistic, lying, dirty, immoral, criminal, megalomaniacs are routinely promoted by Sheriff Tom Knight into his inner circle. All that glitters is not gold. Good, honest, hardworking people suffer greatly for it.
The Herald-Tribune’s “exposé articles” about Sheriff Knight are all rolling off him like water off a duck. He is politically and electorally untouchable. The public has a short memory with the attention span of a gnat that doesn’t go beyond a 24 hour news cycle. Nobody reads this website anyways.

Links to the newspaper articles that are posted here are like fingernails on a chalkboard for Knight. In fact, after one exposé article came out about him, he said to a lower level supervisor: "That screws up the stuff [propaganda] that I've been issuing [via the SSO media arm]" (or words to that effect). Knight admired Adolf Hitler's ability to manipulate the general public with propaganda. That's why Knight hired a cadre of media personnel - instead of spending that same money on jail operations and on law enforcement operations.

Stephanie Gibson hammered the NPPD administration with a constant barrage of newspaper articles (for the public to consume), along with public records requests. Florida's "open records laws" allowed her to do that, but it harmed the administration's image because the facts did not fit their issued "propaganda doctrine" for the public to consume.

The answer is obvious: neither Knight nor the FSA can "control" what LEO's post here. What is written here, to include links to newspaper articles, does not fit Knight's pre-scripted "propaganda doctrine" for the public to consume.

You should really look at the contribution list. I can post it up here if you want. For instance Steve (smack a *****) B-urns gave $200 and somehow his two sons gave $200 each imagine that. Ed Scott gave $200 and his wife gave another $200. If my math is right that is only two SSO employees with a total of $1000.00 ---that is a lot of dough. Oralia and her husband (what a disappointment) $400 total. She is such a nice lady (can't believe tom took your hard earned money) Fat Mike $100 Say waaat only a hundy Mikey? He needed the other hundo for ice cream and cake. Kevin the face man $200 really Kevin? I thought you were in the drop program (drop your shiz off and haul ass) ? Billy I use to be a real cop with balls Spitler $200 of course you did we would expect nothing less, hey wipe your nose there is something on the tip. Tommy Stroud a begrudging $50 love it! Hope all is well Tom, he is good man! CJ really really CJ? $50 bucks. Money well spent CJ. Honorable mention--- Knight took money from Bob WAECHTER biggest pile of duke in this town read the herald tribune article he's a criminal too. He and his wife gave $400. Tom took it with pride. Hey hold on just a minute.... who is the gut Robert Biegel 2381 Appaloosa Cir. That sure is a unique last name. hmmmm Seems as though I have heard that name before. Well well I could go on and on but it is too easy to prove that we all elected this guy. We wrote checks and we told our family members to write checks. Guess where that got us? Write here in this mess. To anyone that says SSO employees do not matter in an election your are an efin fool bro. We write checks and we write checks in our family members names too. This is not meant to shame any of you it is a reminder that this is not Tom knights fault it is ours. Tom is just doing what any person would do if they won the lotto. Live the pimp lifestyle. Mic Drop BOO!

Writing checks to keep cushy job

To counter your point that WE are responsible, take a look again at that list and see how many employees did not write checks. The idiots that write checks are the same ones that have the cushy jobs. Let's look over you list and see the commonalities. Steve has to make sure his history with women never came up while he was still employed, we all know that guy couldn't be trusted any further than the end of his nose. And Ed Scott was just trying to make sure he could keep that daytime job. Billy Spitler, what can I say? He was hired as a deputy and then realized that no one cared about his time at SPD so he got himself a boo-boo and then got that really cushy job as a director of paper clip counting at 6 figures a year. Wasn't that the same job that knightmare said wasn't needed when Frank Carroll had it at just around $50k? Fat Mike, yeah there's a real example of a hard working guy. If he didn't pay he's lose his $100,000 a year lieutenant job for which he was never able to legitimately obtain since he NEVER passed a promotional exam. As for Kevin, you have to admit he looked good in his uniform. Since he was being strung along he really fooled them eh? He now collects about $80k a year in pension funds PLUS another $70k to fly medical helicopter. Stroud is a good guy but he played the game too. When he saw the writing on the wall he played the $50 card but left very soon thereafter. I guess that was a cheap insurance policy to keep his $95,000 salary. As for CJ, I'm at a loss to think who that is. Waechter was just another Republican party official and we all know how corrupt the political machine is here in Sarasota. Biegal needs to keep his daytime woof woof position because we all know he would be lost in patrol. So I tend to think that you're trying to say and show something that just isn't true.

Mr. Tom Knight's (and Kurt Hoffman's) local propaganda machine oozes with disinformation and makes CNN, MSNBC, ABC and CBS look like kid's stuff. Similarly, Herman Goebbels is infamous for issuing state sponsored disinformation.

Does a publicized photo of kissing babies make for a good man? Nope. It’s a propaganda stunt to influence people. Knight uses the SSO Facebook page to present a very narrow narrative or script that he wants the public to see. However, all that glitters is not gold. For example, when the Herald-Tribune published it's article about Knight calling Shirley Brown names, was it posted on the SSO Facebook page? Nope, of course not because it doesn't fit the false fantastical script.

Politicians, to include Knight, have been using the media and Facebook as a cheap publicity whore for a long time, although Goebbels was the first to use it with spectacular success. Here are some of Goebbels more successful photos that were used to favorably influence the public:
