Most agencies with great teams have older, experienced guys with actual street cred. Our agency has nothing but young poster boys who can do pushups and take selfies. Many of our older SWAT guys were never in the military, got a lot of their “experience” watching cool war movies and if you watch just 5 minutes of SWAT School you’ll say “hey, that looks like susch and such movie”.

Posers, wannabes, make believe “operators” etc etc etc and now it shows. Well done boys! Go do some curls and post a selfie with Trill.......

Our agency like most sheriff departments will be a revolving door of people coming and going. They aren’t going to do 30 plus years with no COLA. Surprising that some of these guys don’t know what COLA means. When they learn about it, their faces just sink. This will be a revolving door until the state fixes the problems.

They don't have any choice because all the other counties are FRS as well so there is nowhere to go except cities like Tampa or St. Pete who still offer pension COLAs. Don't rely on the FRS COLA returning because it never will.

This is why all the sheriffs offices in the state of Florida will be a revolving door. You come the PCSO and get 3 years experience and leave to a city with 20 year retirement and cola. Plus, the PCSO will sent you to all types of schools in order to keep you. You can take your schooling and go else where. Great way to get hire by another agency.

almost hate to say it...

but as a SWAT member for another agency, it has been an ongoing joke that PCSO is full of wannabe douchebags..."star men" as we call them. although they have some good cops on the team, majority of them are pure garbage for SWAT type stuff. I didn't know Bob was putting a ton of money into them - they hardly get used?

Well we know that they know how to use a tear gas gun over and over again until the building catches fire so that they don't have to do an entry. LOL Maybe if they spent as much time chasing bad guys as they did chasing other deputy's wives and girlfriends they could actually be useful.
