Everyone got a better contract than MDPD
It would be very difficult to find a police Dept with a lesser contract than the won we just passed. I too voted for it because I was more afraid that the PBA wouldn’t try so I decided to take whatever instead.

Austin getting good raises plus
Police union OKs new labor contract with Austin; council to vote soon
Austin’s police union on Thursday morning voted to approve a police contract that includes pay raises for officers.
The Austin City Council still has to approve the contract and members are set to vote on it Thursday afternoon at their regularly scheduled council meeting.
“Today my colleagues and I intend to express our support for this agreement,” Council Member Allison Alter said at a media briefing on Thursday morning.
The new contract includes a 7 percent pay raise and other pay incentives including additional pay for bi-lingual officers.

I'd rather be part of the 5% group who kept my dignity than you, a Gimenez kowtowing wimp. You submitted and bent over by voting for him the first time, kneeled in front of him and swallowed his contract(ion) the second time, and you'll finally surrender your soul and worship his staff when you try to vote him for sheriff.

That’s a city that has major problems. Officers learned to just do the qsk and go home instead of facing the ongoing trend assault on law enforcement from politicians to regular Joe blow. Now crime has exploded out there and the city wants them back to doing the pro-activity which only gets them in hot water. I’m sure Ferguson, MO is in the same boat. Why would anyone want to work there? Show me the money
