Actually, whether propelled by the alleged, corrupt Miami-Dade political cabal or not, there is really no reason to wait for 2024 to conduct the Sheriff's election. The model is already in place; that is the Sheriff's election must be non-partisan, like the Miami-Dade County Clerk's will be henceforth. (see below link) The Sheriff, as the Clerk, is a duly elected State Constitutional Officer as mandated by Article V, Section 16 of the Constitution of the State of Florida. As the Clerk, the Sheriff will be elected to a four-year term by Miami-Dade County electorate and thereafter serves at Miami-Dade voters' will.

No, somewhere your reading comprehension failed you. Henceforth, The Clerk of The Court, a Constitutional Officer, will be elected in a nonpartisan election. Open and read the below provided link; pursuant to the County Referendum Question #1, posed in this past election. It passed by 61%!
