Are we allowed to make arrest?

1st it’s rhe citation program where I can’t arrest people who steal shopping carts and milk crates (still a crime because there is a victim). Marijuana and drug paraphernalia is another slap on the hand citation.
Now I can’t arrest people who have heroin? I have to send them to a program?!? I swear this is getting out of control.

You are a servant, not the owner of the city, so if you do not like it then quit Papo.

Why you taking it so personal? 09-46, do your time walk out with good money. Who cares? I know I don’t.

Just let it go, no need to get worked up over something you can't control or have a say in.

Whether today or decades ago, the secret to surviving to retirement, is to adapt to the changes endemic to policing. To survive, I urge you to confine your policing to answering dispatched calls for service and do nothing else unless directed by supervisor. When directed to perform a specific enforcement task, document what you were directed to do and who ordered you to do so. This is called CYA!
