Mass shooting are very difficult to stop or prevent Mass shooting in a public shopping center and the perpetrators having no fear of being caught by the LCSO after the shooting is a disgrace. Broward School shooting and the perp was caught with in minutes. 1000 cops bolo the area immediately in Broward.
These criminals know LCSO doesn't have a sufficiently manned patrol division. So they have no fear of committing this crime in a public setting and fleeing the scene without the thought of getting caught initially. They will be tracked down eventually. To prove my point they did not get caught after the shooting.
How did we come to this. The endless rounds of promotions and taking patrol deputies off the streets. Come to the roll call in central and see the 5 deputies assigned to patrol districts at night shift We have the manpower but we don't care about boots on the streets. It's only gong to get worst.
The turn over rate for deputies will be sky high soon and the reason is low pay, unfair treatment by management and the removal of the life time medical benifit after retirement.
Mike Scott legacy was not to fight for his deputies and these are the consequences. The new sheriff has started right off with endless promotions. Do we really need 60 captains. Spot on! The criminals in Lee County have zero fear of the Sheriff's Office. The few hard charging Deputies that are still left with the agency have their hands tied. The others have been run out for being too proactive. The crime rate in Lee County has never been worse. It will only continue to get more violent as time goes on. There are more high paid morons standing in a sheep pack at the press releases than there are Deputies working midnight shift in North or Central District.

So basically your just a person that wants to run for Sheriff someday that did nothing while you were employed here as a Supervisor or your a used car salesman. What’s great to know is Leavens that did nothing at LCSO has strong ties to a known drug dealer in Alva through family. That investigation appears to be gaining a lot of traction and more arrest to come!!! What’s disgusting is you go on this website and disrespect us deputies and the detectives throughout LCSO. Hey Dipsh*t, I'm not disrespecting our Deputies. I absolutely have ZERO respect for our administration. farquaad has NO experience and NO degree - in ANYTHING, yet he was handed, yes HANDED, a MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR organization to run.
