Kudos to Sanford PD for ending this episode.

Deputies were attempting to serve active felony warrants on Amie R Tyson (S1) and Thomas Walton (O1) at 1851 Barton St, Seville, FL. Deputy Kretzer secured Walton in the back of his patrol vehicle and confirmed his two active warrants; see VCSO case numbers (180023477, 180023478 for additional details). While Deputy Ray was completing his paperwork inside his patrol vehicle, Tyson managed to slip her handcuffs to the front. Deputy Ray advised he let the window down halfway to allow air flow into the rear of the vehicle. Tyson then accessed the exterior door handle through the open window to escape the vehicle. Sergeant Edgecomb notified the watch commander, who responded to the scene. Deputies, Air-One and Putnam County sheriff's deputies flooded the area to search for Tyson, which yielded negative results. Deputy Ray completed a charging affidavit for Tyson and placed it in the district 2 pass-along box for the oncoming shifts.

Explaination: The guardian mentality allows rolling rear window down to keep the prisoner comfortable.

1 - no traffic stops. You might accidentally pull over an illegal immigrant
2- any arrest....handcuffs in front. Vehicle windows down
3- If 10-15 wants....a selfie with media mike.

Back to the "it happened with Ben argument."
