4/10s is proven to be the way to go ... 12 hr shifts are too long for police work, specially the driving involved... 5/8s are insane, the stress on the families is huge, sucks for afternoons, midnights, even mornings unless u have a Monday to Friday and who the **** does ?!?! 4/10s !!! Decreases burnout, call outs, vacation usage, helps families... **** the research is there, the statistics are there...

Do you have kids? Are you a single parent? Do you have extra curriculum activities to do? 4-10s doesn’t work for everyone. For example midnight officers will have to work until 8a. What about those that need to be home by 7 to tend to the kids or to be an adult? It’s good for ppl with no family life not good for ppl with family especially just adding another day to T/W
