Fixing the agency. To Nocco *

Here is a suggestion to help fix this agency. Unfortunately, this place is pretty much at rock bottom so it can only go up.

Send out monthly moral surveys to identify issues within the agency. This will help identify issues within the agency and come up with a solution to the problem. Your solution to people leaving is just to hire new people. Patrol is full of people with under three years experience and almost everyone dreads coming to work. This creates problems retaining people when they are beat to death by supervisors for any little mistake.

Nocho needs to get out of the spotlight and focus on fixing things here. Get off TV and stop blowing tax money on stupid things no one uses and work on fixing pay. There needs to be a vote throughout the agency on stuff he purchases. Him making decisions without anyone input is just crazy, considering he doesn't make very sound ones. The public should be aware of all purchases too. Adams Arms … Sig … New shotguns … No one agreed to this on patrol and yet we have it. This is salary money lost.

One day a month, command staff should handle calls for service from Port Richey to Holiday to experience the call volume and workload. This will open their eyes to the stuff Deputies deal with on a day to day basis. Command staff needs to actually meet some of us and get to know the Deputies as people and not just a replaceable CJIS. If Lord Nocho would see anyone outside of uniform, he would have no clue we worked in Pasco.

I would like to see some of the brass come out to see their Deputies busting their asses on holidays away from their families. They should go to each district on holidays and have a meal with the Deputies or at least spend a bit of time with them. The little things like this would really make people appreciate coming in to work for you. With that said, show some appreciation to people who do their jobs. There is no recognition or commendation when you do something well and just a big **** you when you make a mistake. Every person has a burning desire to feel appreciated and there is none here.

Get rid of the body cameras since they are an administrative tool more than anything. Seriously, over 400 grand a year to keep them running could be nearly 1k extra a year in deputies pockets. I will take an extra 1k a year and not wear a body camera.

Stop harassing citizens aka prolific offenders. Instead of literally harassing prolific offenders, come up with a more helpful approach and work with them to get their life together instead of smashing them into the dirt more. These are people who unfortunately made some wrong decisions but still have the ability to change. Try going out to their house as the Sheriff and connecting with these people since they are paying taxes to have you sit in your office and do nothing. The same thing goes with most people who commit crimes. Try working with them instead of bringing them to Hotel Pasco every few weeks.

Instead of throwing write ups at people looking to leave the agency and black balling them, let them make decisions as an adult. If they want to leave, let them go peacefully without a handful of CIR's while walking out the door.

The pursuit policy promotes criminals walking into Pasco and doing whatever they feel like because they know we are nothing but mobile receptionists. If I ever decided to be a criminal, Pasco would be the place to go as it is easy. If people know we can chase, crime would go down. Now some basic real estate values for you. With crime reduced in an area, home prices and business would go up. With the rise in home prices, you would get more educated people moving in who are making more money. This would promote better school grades and lead to an even bigger increase. This would make taxes go up thus promoting a bigger budget for the Sheriff's Office to spend. Look at Boca Raton, they start at 66k and have the best of everything.

Throw some big push bars on the front of cars and let us PIT people to stop pursuits before they become high speed pursuits. If you can PIT someone who just started running, you prevent danger to the public and catch a criminal … the stuff you never did. Crime is out of control and people can do pretty much as they please. No chase and body cameras hinder peoples motivations to actually try and enforce laws.

Let's ditch ILP and go to community policing. A lot of the public does not trust us out there and we need to fix that. We all take our write ups and go home at the end of the day and are normal people. Community policing can help build trust with members of the community who may be issues. With this trust and respect, we can help prevent more crime than spending tons of money on ILP. (I <3 ILP

It might just be better to get a new Sheriff and command staff.

Please to anyone considering applying, please do not. This agency will chew you up and spit you out with no where to go. Most people are lucky to make it three years before being arrested or fired. You never know when you will have to turn your gear in. Don't buy a house! Good luck making payments walking on eggshells.

Can we please put together a vote of no confidence for a new Sheriff? This agency is a complete disaster and needs desperate change. Nocco is one hell of a terrible leader and is just a political hack who got where he is because of his wife. What other Sheriff or Chief has a few years of experience hardly doing any actual police work and is leading a whole agency? It's not even just the lack of experience as a cop, but he is a terrible people person and does not know how to get people to be happy.

Right on brother! The morale has gotten worse since Nacho took over. He doesn't care about you or your family. He's there because of his wife and his love of being on TV. He has no cop experience or people skills. He sucks! If he saw you on a scene and you covered up your name on your uniform he would have no idea who the hell you are. He mumbles and fumbles when talking to the media. What a Jackass! If you're looking to come to pasco don't waste your time. You're better off with another agency. Buy a house in an adjoining county. Not pasco! I agree, the command staff needs to get out there and get to know their community. Not go looking for people to put in jail. Try educating them and getting them resources.

I was in the Little Road Puzzle Palace one day and there were two salesmen trying to get to see the Boy King. One of his support staff came out to screen them and laughed saying we try to keep salesmen from him because hes like a little kid who wants to buy everything. Friggin Amazing.

Gee I wonder and so should you

"Adams Arms … Sig … New shotguns … No one agreed to this on patrol and yet we have it"

I wonder how many times the old sheriff's name might pop up in those deals?

Want change? Start with voting out every FOP officer who isnt 100% on your side. Then every incumbent row officer and incumbent of the BCC. There are some real winners there. Time to man up and go to the press and announce a call for a vote of no confidence on the sheriff. Dont do any of it on working hours or in uniform. Hence the problem is its doubtful there are anything more than dried little raisins in the agency to speak up and out.
