And What is School Police going to do?
Wow not only is Fed money paying this SRO mandate, now all the sudden School Police can’t even handle their normal calls or crashes within school grounds, yes their jurisdictions. It’s now been put on the backs of the Miami Dade Police road units on regular patrol to take on school calls. This is but another example of how Peter “Politics” steals from Paul “Taxpayers”. Yes citizens you who pays taxes “hard earned” will now have your metropolitan police services shifted to schools because politicians can care less about stopping crime while taxpayers are working. It’s all about shoveling the school police crap now, forget about your homes and valuables, your issues and concerns, your safety period. School police is just a useless and pathetic Department that just needs to be taken over and eleiminated! They solve nothing, don’t act, and protect Nada. Share this with friends and family, let’s see how they like their tax dollars used for politicians to say they have everything under control and covered! Miami Dade Police is short hundreds of positions, School police is worst off and they want to say they have this SRO mandate covered, oh please. Crime is out of control, drug use is through the roof, and calls are holding for hours. STOP THE LIES!!

Your getting paid in two days more than a school board officer gets paid in a week. Stop complaining and handle the call. Le ronca el mamey bro. You just want to sit in your car and make the easy money. The least thing you can do is write an accident report.

hey retard, this isnt about the ot working officers. This is about the road officers, who have to handle school board calls because school board isnt "available" to handle them, regardless if it occurred at the school or 5 miles away.
I know one schoolboard officer who tried to drop a school bus accident that occured away from a school on a district this week, because they werent "available", but then all of a sudden became available when told the call would have to hold for hours. This is just an excuse for them to get out of doing work. Sorry we arent "available", no recourse for the county officers who then have to handle school boards call for service.
School police should 100% be absorb at this moment. They cant handle calls for service, they cant work nights or weekends, and they cant secure the schools. what is the point?

Reality check
Years ago we had the SRO Program where there was an officer assigned to the schools.
The school board did not like having a police officer in their schools reporting real and actual crimes because it made them look bad and thus the creation of the Miami Dade County School Police who answers to the Principals and only report what is convenient. The School board has been manipulating the crime statistics in these schools every since while spending education money for police services. We, as County Law enforcement Officers, have been denied access to the schools to affect a lawful arrest and need to be "Ushered and "escorted".
If we are going to do the job of the School Police they need to be abolished and that money given to the respective jurisdiction that provide the officers.
