As every single building is being either upgraded or built new, we still have to shine the turd we have to work in everyday. I agree with "I don't care" , my attitude reflects how Im treated by my command staff and the University Officials who are basically unaware that we exist.
I would love to be questioned by one of the accreditation people and tell them the truth

You think they give a crap? We pay for them to come here and watch the dance, they are not going to care at all, if we do not pass, they do not continue to get paid to review and re-accredit us. Plus, let's be real, this is a sham accreditation that we have here and it is for agencies that cannot pass the national CALEA standards that real agencies get their accreditation through. I mean who the hell ever heard of the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation as their sole accreditor? It was created by and for second-rate agencies in this State to give themselves a sense of self-worth and value.
I mean, there are some agencies that have both (CALEA and this thing), just to say they support the home team accreditation folks, but it is basically meaningless in reality. If you do not believe me take a look at the list of agencies on the list at http://www.flaccreditation.org/accagencies.htm; they are either good agencies and also CALEA accredited or horrible places that you never heard of or would not work for unless you were nearly homeless. Take the first one, Ag LE, all they do is sit at the weight stations and say, 'What you got today'? Those poor *******s have to clean the toilets as a part of their regular duties, have no take home vehicle and run the risk of skin cancer on whatever arm is hanging out the window of the booth they sit in all shift. Hell, another agency just below that, Brooksville PD, is defunct!

The big problem as it stated the Admin, here is not liked at all or trusted by the patrol on how they treat or interact with patrol. It's never enough and never a good job, there is always a problem. Most patrol people like their job, but it's the Admin, who make it a terrible job and place to work, making people unhappy. Very sad but true. You will not usually find this on most other agencies. ...and that is because at this place you ARE either administration OR patrol; we are so top-heavy here it is mindboggling. The ratio of chiefs to Indians is so skewed, that this crappy atmosphere incubates itself all on itself with all of the admin vying to seem like they are imperative to the operation; however, because they have no real understanding of what that actually means, and there are far too many of them in the first place, they end of contravening each other on an hourly basis and turning this place into a miserable place to work for everyone!
