Whats been our losses recently??
Just wondering what other Troops are experiencing in regards to losses recently? Here in Troop E we are bleeding troopers like crazy to local agencies. I'm hoping this new 4 week LRC program will help, but I'm doubtful. Feels like I see new faces here for 2 years and then bam.....they are gone.

Everyone is losing a lot of personnel, it's not new. I get the impression they are keeping up with it SLIGHTLY better than a couple of years ago. We are understaffed, but not as bad as 2014-2016. They now let rooks choose their duty assignment (for the most part) which must be helping.

Why don't you take the hint and leave to for better pay, better retirement and a better work enviroment. One day the politicians will wake and see that this is not the sixties and disband the highway patrol. Just mandate that the PD's and SO's handle the crashes in their jurisdictions. They almost always get there before you guys and then have to wait forever for you guys to respond because you guys are short handed. Your dispatch center is just as bad. When you call to advise there is an accident and ask if they could start a wrecker so they will already be there clearing the roadway when you guys get there, your dispacth center always has something smart to say so the roadway stays blocked until you guys get there, call for a wrecker and wait till they respond. I don't want to hurt your feeling but you guys are no longer needed.

It's all about the money!
FHP always had high turnover since the late 80's, the articles speak for themselves:

FHP has always griped not being able to recruit and retain troopers but refuses to fix the main issue which is causing the massive turnover year after year, which is LOW PAY. People who will just use FHP for a free ride for paid training and certification and will jump ship because they know working at FHP means working endless OT survive to offset the low pay.
Florida Legislature and FHP don't realized that if they just fix the pay, it solves the retention and recruitment problem. But they rather waste money and resources to train troopers to leave after two years to become deputies and police officers.

They are happy with it the way it is.
They pay cashiers low wages to keep the court houses full of cash and the public has this false sense of highway safety.
It's not like the troopers have PHd's or something.
