If you are doing this on your own or if your Supervisors are "encouraging" enforcement of the Law in this manner just for that "Stat", then you and who ever told you to do this should not be in this profession.

Remember, you are working with a command staff that has no experience other than working at USF as police officers. They have never been in a real fight on the job, that is not once, but a few in their career before they even made their position as the rank they have. The Captain has never left the office position his entire career, he just keeps switching office jobs and titles. It's the way it works here, but they want kick ass cops making their stats, And even when you make them, it's never good enough, there will always be something else wrong. All they care about is the stats to keep them looking good. It is a high stress work environment compared to what goes on here.

When it comes to DUI, there is no such thing as spirit of the law. These tipsy kids you refer to in a parked car could easily crank up the engine and drive off, killing themselves or someone else. We all know that USF is a smoke free campus, but we all know that it's not enforced and you can pretty much smoke anywhere you want outside. These kids simply need to find a secluded corner of campus and smoke all they want. Just stay out of vehicles. If you turn your back on these types of offenses, turn your badge in please. You are a waste of a uniform.

With the way you look at the law, we should consider anyone with a penknife a potential Murderer and arrest them immeadiatly.

Turn in the badge and a waste of uniform? Very unnecessary, and a question of your maturity and common sense judgement on the job. I know right now all you care about is the stats you can produce to make yourself look good, but trust me me...... One day you will have a kid going to a university somewhere. Is this the attitude or the way you would want the police at a university to handle the situation?
