What could a union REALLY accomplish? Discuss, recommend, plea? Unions have no real leverage with a Sheriff. You will pay dues to support a rep who is a LEO but wants to be a union rep full time. You may get a few more crumbs falling your way but nothing really substantial. It will create an even greater adversarial relationship between management and the troops. It will put the low-level supervisors more firmly in the camp of management whether they like it or not. Unions are not the be all end all solution to problems that run faaaar deeper.

Well TPD sure out pace us in benefits and representation on disciplinary matters. Pinellas SO has a union as well that the troops seem to be happy with . That alone is worth it. After seeing what happened last year to quite a few deputies during I A investigations it tells me something is got to change. Iam not talking about off duty garbage iam talking about on duty calls where careers weee ruined. When you walk into IA now you have zero representation and no recourse. The chief was a tyrannt and so was his cronnies. Again what you afraid of just let us vote. Cuz u know it will pass overwhelmingly.
