The sheriff is a terrible leader. He ran a tiny department before he was booted out and never really had any significant command experience. Then there is the politics. Cops make bad politicians usually because they are too conservative. This guy however, switched parties to get elected in liberal Broward county where the Dems rule. Sadly the Dems were too dumb and too blind by party affiliation to recognize that. He pandered to the black community and used them as pawns in all his adds during his campaign. They bought in too. Not to mention all the Broward Dems voted Democrap, straight down the line during the Obama presidential election in 2008 and 2012. The problem is this: can or will the governor remove an elected sheriff in one of the largest counties in the state for being a terrible leader and being unliked by his employees. Remember, the governor is running for senate and needs every vote he can get. Pissing off the Broward Dem party is not going to help him. The sheriff is useless and can no longer effectively lead BSO. But he didn’t cause the Douglas Shooting and he wasn’t there. Just because he failed to credit CSPD for the job they did, illegally fired Peterson, and decided to take on the NRA for some dumb reason, does not give cause to the governor. What he needs to do is be a man and simply walk away. Resign! That would be the right thing to do. There is no way he can fix his broken agency. He knows it but has to much ego to man up. He could even leave Kinsey in charge for 2 years until we can have an election. Then the residents of Broward need to make the Sheriff’s race non-partisan and get a real sheriff to run this place. No more politicians.

Any update on the FDLE investigation, on BSO’s response to the MSD tragedy?

When will it be complete?

FDLE is still interviewing deputies and heros from CSPD. It will be months. Don’t expect much from the investigation or the report.

It has been approximately 3 months since that horrible day in Parkland.

The Governor immediately requested a full investigation into BSO’s respnse to the MSD tragedy. I can only imagine that the investigation is nearing completion or is already done.

What will be the findings of the FDLE investigation and what action will the Governor take?

If the Governor finds cause to suspend the Sheriff, how would it happen? Would there be a transition team like after an election?
