Chief DW, please read the article below. Many of the very things that this city is being sued for are exactly what your code division has been reduced to. It has changed from a compliance mode to a revenue generation mode - the very things the city is being sued for. The buck stops with you, so you need to protect yourself. May I suggest that you have some very private and candid conversations with CO's like Gene S, Paulina V., Nadja V. etc in order to find out how legally vulnerable the PD has become due this one division. Show them the article, ask them specific questions, such as, "is some of this happening here?" Chief, you have worked hard to get where you are - don't let this one division be the catalyst to tarnish your future endeavors (which are now bright.)
