If a survey was taken right now most would vote for a 10 hour shift.

Highlands County Sheriff office, has been doing 12's for a while. It's a hit and miss on who you talk to. Older deputies, really don't like them. Young ones do. They work 3-12's one week, the next 4-12's. If they don't rotate days or shift's here. It's possible. Court appearance, may cut into your sleep. After working 12 and having to come back for another 12. Those with children, it can get to you. Some other department that have 12's. Have the hours so your on-duty for most court appearances. Night court (not the T.V. show) for 1st appearances, depo's and a few other ones. Trials, may be a issue, those are still done in the day hours.

No one is whining about 12’s. The few lazy dinosaurs that were found spots doing real police work, like perimeter and safe harbor. We literally had 8 hour cars that NO ONE bid for. The 8 hour delta spots were more a hinderance than a help. Get over it, no modern agency is doing 8s and 10s are too expensive. The only ones *****ing are the ones who lost every weekend off rather than every other now. The same ones that were burning the grass under every tree doing Area Checks.

Well we have ourselves a real live hot shot on our hands. All twelves do is give you rookies a part of the weekend off every month or so. Typical generation of cops that are owed everything. Two year cops with 35 arrest. Haaa what a joke. Keep your 12s but make some real cases. Now go get that warrant in Highpoint.
