Journalism can never be silent: that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air.

This is not personally directed to any names in this thread. However, it seems that to be appointed to the rank of captain, major or chief deputy, the person has to be a pathological liar who is perfectly comfortable and is perfectly at ease with lying. In reference to Knight, his actions speak loud and clear. The H-T article that showed:
    - Knight called other elected officials names via text while he was on-duty
    - And Knight intentionally tried to undermine the financial stability of the Sarasota School District

With Knight riding this wave of name calling and deception, no one is surprised at the caliber (or lack thereof) of people that he is appointing (inviting) to be inside his inner circle. If a candidate is not willing to lie, then he can't be trusted -- or that's the odd mentality.

The problem of immorality, deception and lying are primarily at the senior SSO staff level -- and not in the trenches.

There is absolutely no excuse or reason to call Tom Knight or his henchmen names because you lose credibility when you do that. Instead, please just stick to the facts because evidence speaks louder than name calling. Now, let's review the evidence, shall we?

Kevin McElyea fails lie detector test. Here are the exam results:

Kurt Hoffman fails lie detector test and steals from multiple employers:

John Walsh gets caught encouraging Detective Mark Macale to lie during an investigation:

Tom Knight refuses to investigation his senior staff member for pedophilia:

Dan Tutko gets caught encouraging a deputy to lie during an investigation:

As you can see, the facts are much cleaner and more compelling than name calling.

What are you some kind of Stalker with an axe to grind? He wants to retire and leave and you want to hold grudges and screw him and his wife over. Grow up! Personally I don't care for the guy but I don't go out of my way to stalk people and screw them over. Its shame you can't focus your personal agendas elsewhere or perhaps even have a life. Good luck with that kind of stress. You'll be dead by 60 if you keep that up.

Look up the legal definition of "stalker" and you'll see that you completely missed the mark. If that's your definition of "stalker," then you're in the wrong profession. Anyway, the link that he (or she???) posted is fascinating because it shows what a small world this is. It also shows a high level of political inbreeding, which tends to create deformities. If you need proof, then look at Knight and his hand-picked inner circle of pathological liars. And now Knight is seizing Bibles from inmates. We are not making this stuff up!!!! Seriously!!! OMG!!!

    Started by Media

Remember, promoting controversy is a marketing strategy for the media.
    And:
    1) There are no minimum standards to be a reporter.
    2) There is no certification authority over reporters like the Bar Association and others.
    3) There is no oath required.
    4) There is no background investigation.
    5) There are no honesty requirements, no accountability, hence-no one ever gets fired, no matter how outrageous their fabrications.

Your daily paper is a rag..except for maybe the Wall Street Journal.
