When Israel became sheriff he talked a good game about how he was a real law enforcement officer and that he was going to be tough on crime and do away with the good old boy system. What a crock that turned out to be. The incompetent exorbitantly paid Ft Lauderdale hires are only here for a paycheck, along with Israel’s other useless friends and family hires.

The liberal policies that he has pushed since entering office have done the exact opposite of what he promised. He has done everything that he can do to discourage arrests. Look at the use of force policy. He changed police to require use of force investigations be conducted by supervisors in just about every instance where a deputy made an arrest. He knew that this would have a chilling effect that would lead to fewer arrests. Now, Deputies place their jobs and reputations on the line everytime that they make an arrest. Their files fill with use of force investigations that defense attorneys can use to imply that the deputies are problem deputies that are constantly under investigation. The atmosphere at the agency is bipolar. There is no longer a certainty that if you do the right thing you will be backed by the agency. In fact, Israel has made it clear that he has no problem throwing anyone under the bus even if they are 100 percent in the right. He only cares about how an incident is perceived by the minority community.

Deputies now feel that it is better to do nothing that to risk their careers enforcing the law.

The agency is sick, Parkland should never have happened and would never have happened had Israel not systematically destroyed the morale of the deputies and tied the hands of law enforcement. The Promise program, that took the ability and free will of the deputy to enforce established laws, allowed Cruz to go unchecked and is directly responsible for what happened at Stoneman. Israel is directly responsible for that program as well as all of the other failures. He will never take responsibility however. He has no conscience or honor and does not care if Broward becomes the next Detroit as long as he can profit from it.

Israel is a disgusting embarrassing disgrace to law enforcement. He needs to go. Vote no confidence and help start this agency on the road to recovery.

After what Israel has done to this agency no one with any integrity would support him. Remember that you few soulless sellouts that are attempting to curry favor.

Israel will be gone very soon and we will not forget who the traitors to the agency and the citizens of this county are.
Fantastic post! We need to code red all those traitors....don't forget who they are when the hammer falls.

Some people just don’t know when to shut up. Unless you’ve been around awhile like when Sheriff Navarro was here who also thought he could not be voted out. Low and behold it was the rank and file who led the way to oust Sheriff Navarro. Sheriff Navarro was well liked by many and had his loyal followers and cool aide drinkers too, but again if you think your mightier than the rank and file your sadly mistaken.
Let’s remember 2012 was a Presidential election year with OBama running and a sheriff’s race sandwiched on the same ballot. Broward Dems push (D) like Christmas treeing a test. Look at the 2016 numbers and they were down compared to 2012.
Somehow unless those six reverends driving BSO cars pound the pavement or pulpits, this Sheriff had better be concerned on 2020. The rank and file will remember vengeful tactics. We will not be threatened.

Don't think he much cares. I'd guess 70% or more of the deputies live outside of Broward and cannot even vote against him.

Its been that way for a long time, but with family, friends, and others word gets out quickly. Multiply that for each deputy or Sgt. and the numbers work in their favor. He had better care or it will be his last two years if he even lasts that long.

    Vote without fear!

Some out their have expressed a fear of voting... No worries

You do not have to fear retaliation. The survey monkey site simply records an IP address when you go to it. No one can access that IP address and it is completely anonymous. It also does not record which way that IP address voted.

Do not let fear of reprisal from Sheriff and his cronies keep you from voting. They can’t find out anything unless you tell them!!!
