Pension Board conflict of interest
How can the Vice Chairman of the Pension Board, apply for a disability pension while he still sits on the board. This comes across as a conflict of interest. Once he picked up the paperwork, he should have stepped down from the board.

Exactly why is that? The process takes up to 6 months. He should give up his duly elected seat? What if his disability does not go through? Now he vacated his seat for no reason.
He will stay where he is. However, when his disability comes up for a vote, he will not attend the meeting as a trustee but as an applicant. If his disability is granted, he will immediately resign at the same time.
He has served honorably for years on this board.
What you should focus on is asking the question why our administration and the Mayor continue to put ALL officers in danger with these damn cannons at the parade that injured him and COUNTLESS other officers.

So Richie Rich is actually trying to 65 Out due to parade cannons?
Honorably, that's laughable. You mean collecting our pension dollars to go all over the world on paid junkets with no apparent return on that money?
So Richie Rich is trying to 65 Out on a parade cannon?
What about all those years instructing firearms?
What about all those years playing on the department's shoot team?
Why haven't the THOUSANDS of officers before him been injured by parade cannon fire?
Sounds like a convenient scam to me for someone who couldn't make it to three stripes.
He shouldn't be allowed to hear disability cases, bias. He shouldn't be allowed to influence and direct the board of trustees (He's the Vice Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Steering Committee), bias. He shouldn't be able to supervise the employees (at the pension office) who are collecting his records, bias. He shouldn't be able to oversee the Medical Director, bias. He shouldn't be able to oversee the board attorney, bias. Starting to see a pattern here? Sounds like the media needs to get ahold of this.
Sorry Richie Rich, your gravy train is grinding to a halt.

Dam, y’all ruthless!! The dude possibly could permanently loss his hearing over time due to work. It still has to be proven so chill out until that time. He has a large family so I’m sure doing 65 is the last thing he wants, so not sure why your assuming he is scamming the system. To the original poster , Go back to your retired life and mind your own business.
