Why would we be paying overtime to the SRT team and the K-9 unit to be standing around at the Venice BBQ Bash? It's not in the city. Huge waste of overtime! Glad the city has extra money to waste. They aren't protecting our city and have no jurisdiction.

Again, where is there jurisdiction, it ends in North Port. Unless they were sworn in as Venice officers or deputies they have no legal right to be there. If they were sworn in then Venice would have to pay them. I am sure this arrangement was made by KV before he left. Well commissioners, who is paying these guys and with them being out of their legal jurisdiction who is covering NP and is it costing us the taxpayers Overtime. Here is a perfect example of a severe lack of competent leadership, something pops off and NPPD gets involved the officers have zero authority and the city will be liable. Peter Lear this is on you for your lack of being able to hire a police chief. If this is a public relations stunt they should be more concerned in fixing there image in NP and not in Venice.

He had his chance to hire a chief and he choked. He didn't want one of the three good candidates because he knew they would set the barn on fire and watch the rats run out. Instead he put his head rat in charge. I cant wait to see the buttkisser doormats who apply for the chiefs job.
