    You know the problem with people? They, lump all cops off the action of a few. You need to understand. The city and department have double standard. Actions that would be considered offences, to 1 selected group, the same action of another group. Isn't even looked at. Take for example, the ones joking on duty, they got fired. Not the F&F peeps.

    11.4.5.5 Commanding Officer to Set Example for Subordinates: To assure success in the performance of the basic duties of members and civilian employee, it is imperative that the commanding officer set examples for subordinates in energy, morality, sobriety, courtesy, courage, skill, discipline, and professionalism.
    11.6.17.7 Conduct unbecoming a police officer that shall include any act or conduct not specifically mentioned in these Rules and Regulations that tends to bring the Department into disrepute or reflects discredit upon the individual member as a police officer.
    DO 2, Chapter 3, Code of Ethics:
    3.4.1 Performance of the Duties of an Employee: Employees shall perform all duties impartially, without favor or affection or ill will and without regard to status, sex, race, religion, political belief or aspiration. All citizen will be treated equally with courtesy, consideration and dignity.
    Employees will never allow personal feelings, animosities or friendship to influence official conduct. Laws will be enforced appropriately and courteously and, in carrying out their responsibilities, employee will thrive to obtain maximum cooperation from the public. Employees will conduct themselves in appearance and deportment in such a manner as to inspire confidence and respect for the position of public trust they hold.
    11.6.28.3 Members and Civilian Employees to Conform: Members and civilian employees shall be required to conform to and abide by the rules and Regulations, Departmental Orders and other directives of the Police Department, the Ordinances of the City of Miami and the County of Miami Dade, and the laws of the State of Florida and the United States of America.
    11.6.19.4 Conduct During Off-Duty Police Work: Any outside policing activity will be considered to be regular police work insofar as conduct, performance of duty, and compliance with Rules and Regulations are concerned; all members and civilian employees performing such duty will be under the direction of any superior officer, then on duty, who shall supervise the officer’s activity in a manner consistent with good police work.

    4.2.1 This policy applies to all forms of communication including, but not limited to, film, video, print media, public or private speech, use of all Internet services, including the World Wide Web, e-mail, file transfer, remote computer access, news services, social networking, social media, instant messaging, blogs, forums, video and other file-sharing sites.
    4.2.2 The absence of, or lack of explicit reference to a specific site, does not limit the extent of the application for this order. Where no policy or guideline exist, employees should take the most prudent action possible, which includes, but is not limited to, consultation with a supervisor or with a represent6ative of the Information Technology Support Section.
    4.3 DEFINITIONS:
    4.3.3 Post: Content an individual shares on a social media site or the act of publishing content on a site.

All information created while on duty is the property of the Miami Police Department and is to be guarded and treated as confidential and proprietary and not for dissemination, unless authorized by the Chief of Police of applicable law.
    4.5 PROCEDURES: Employees who chose to maintain or participate in social media or social networking platforms shall conduct themselves with professionalism and in such a manner that will not reflect negatively upon the Department, its mission, or the employee.
    4.5.4 Unless authorized, by the chief of Police employees shall not implicitly or by inference identify themselves as an employee of the Miami Police Department.
    4.5.5 Departmental logos, uniforms, or similar identifying items shall not be used on personal web pages without approval from the Chief of Police.
    4.5.9.1 Employees will be held responsible for the content that appears on their maintained social media or social networking sites and will be obligated to remove any posting or material contributed by others that identifies the individual as an employee of the Department.
