Too many female detention deputies
For some reason the jail has hired a lot more female detention deputies than in the past resulting in many floors being staffed by a male and a female staff member in male housing areas. The female deputies cannot pat search the male inmates exiting or entering their housing or provide reliable backup to the male deputy. This has created a security and safety problem for floor staff, as well as increasing the workload for the male deputies which have to pat search all the male inmates. Also, female detention deputies cannot be placed in control desk positions because those are filled by civilian criminal justice specialists. There is no sign that this staffing problem is being recognized by the administration let alone addressed. Meanwhile the male deputies get stuck with more work, more stress and reduced safety.

You either did not read the initial post or did not comprehend it. It has nothing to do with patrol. It has to do with not enough male detention deputies to pat search male inmates in male housing areas because too many female detention deputies are assigned there. Nobody is pulled from anywhere to search anyone. Female detention deputies are not allowed to pat search male inmates at the jail and that policy will not change.

lol, how many female inmates are there compared to males?
Females cannot do the job for the most part, but thank god you are "diverse and inclusive"
your agency is retarded if they are not allowing female deputies to pat search inmates...most places this is common practice

Another problem is the inmates are always "gunning" the female staffers. This creates incident reports and Drs, which are a waste of time for the most part. The male d/d ends up doing all the work while the female spends 2-3 hours on the report and DR paperwork. Inmates are never formally charged.
