    Risk Protection Unit

Did they really need to make a unit for risk protection orders? It is ridiculous that we are going shorthanded in other units for something that could be handled by civil deputies or patrol when the orders do come out.

So does the agency pick and choose when it follows policies for transfer? I’m unarmed of any postings for the new unit or any interviews that took place. So now the agency just picks whoever they want and transfers them? Why do we have a contract, policies and rules? Where is the PBA in all this? Oh I know, having lunch with a Bob selling out the people you are supposed to represent. Isn’t that right Krohn? Rules are for minions. The Executive Staff just does what it wants to do.

So who serves the search warrants on the crazy and or violent felons who refuse to comply with he RPO? The new four man unit? Are they doing the same soft search warrants that all of the other units are stuck doing now? It’s one thing to do that with pedofiles but this seems a little more intensive. We all know they’re not going to use SWAT.

You do know we have a violent offender warrant unit right? Why can’t they handle the few orders that are going to be coming out? This is no different than when we seize guns when domestic violent injunctions are served. I’m still confused as to why civil deputies can’t do this.

So you think the warrants guys that have less than 8 people can do search warrants now? You obviously have no idea the amount of people it takes to do that stuff. No one can do the dynamic entry on anything anymore irregardless

The reason for no dynamic entries is Bob does not trust his SWAT team and has no tactical experience. This risky business of hitting a so called empty house or grab and snatch at the front door will come back and bite these so called leaders. It's pathetic explaning to another agency our policy regarding search warrants. Be safe and keep questioning this dangerous policy.

They are not doing search warrants on all risk protection orders, even though it seems pointless they aren’t. These are not people that are thinking rationally, why would they tell you they have guns when the order is served, or why would they give you all of their guns? What prevents them from giving 2-3, but then they have 5 more hidden in the attic? You are not going to keep guns out of a determined person’s hands. They will get one illegally if they want. Plenty of those out there with all the people leaving their vehicles unlocked with firearms inside. The commitment times for Baker Acts need to be changed, put the funding into inpatient mental health facilities, have more civil commitments for the insane. Guns are not the problem, people will kill others if they want.
