How’s the morale.
How’s the moral at this agency? Just wondering before I apply. I see a lot of negativity on this forum and was just wondering if it is accurate. Any honest input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This place isn’t bad at all, it has its problems just like every other agency. The only issue I see here at the this place is all the grumpy old retired cops from other places that work here. You would think they would come here and enjoy their time while working a cake job but instead complaint about everything it’s truly sickening. The young officers are good but still have a lot to learn, some have gotten mixed with the old grumpy retired cops here and hope on the misery train to nowhere.. we have a great chief and great Ast Chief with great benefits.

This Department benefits from the mix of retired officers, experienced officers from other agencies, and young newbies starting out. We have a great Chief and Assit. Chief. It's the Captains and the Lieutenants that are the problem. It's never good enough in he work you do, it's always something different on what they want on the job and it changes daily. When you do what they want, they want something else. Not a stable environment. New memos on how to do things or what they want done can come out almost daily. It is a very unstable environment for the officer on what is expected or wanted by them.

Morale? What's morale? Ignore the rookies who haven't been around long enough to get properly f'ed. They still think it's all puppies and rainbows. It's like any other department it has its good times and bad times. There's one thing separating us from the others, our command staff. Whereas other larger agencies have checks and balances to keep managers under control and accountable we don't. As the last post said the chief's are great but the rest are a disease.

True, we are just like many other departments. We have officers who are great, but we also have officers who are a disease. No matter how much equipment, money, and other perks are thrown their way, they will always find a way to be unhappy, disgruntled, and blame it on someone else, rather than looking at themselves.

Maybe if some of the Command staff was sent to a course on people skills things would be a heck of a lot better.
Until then, its still not a bad place to be.

It looks like they have assigned the Witch of Buchenwald to be back in charge and run stats on people like she is likes to do. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilse_Koch
