Treasure island is a good department, I know you said no SO, but Pinellas is good. Tampa is a good dept, and the pay is on point, But you will work! You will not regret leaving FHP. It’s a toilet.

You're vested in the FRS. Why would you want to start over with a city retirement? SO is the only smart way to go with that many years. That said, there are some cities that are in the FRS and would be good options.

I agree with this poster. Wherever you go, make sure it is an FRS agency. Glad to hear you are getting out of FHP!

A lot of the Pinellas Agencies listed were already absorbed by the S.O. and the rest will be, sans T.I.; USFPD is in the FRS and has campuses in St Pete and Tampa. The Tampa campus starts at $50k and has take-home cars.
