Get out of your 1970s ways of thinking and give the shifts a damn shot! Geesh! You guys will cry again years down the line when they decide to change you all back to 8's.
Retard, stfu if you dont know. We already work 12 hrs in Troop F. Cardwell wanted permanents midnights in the north, now his protege Vanarsdale retard wants the same in the south. F&(k ft Myers and the brass

    Makes Sense

The idea makes sense. Here's the reason, it will minimize Shift work sleep disorder (SWSD) by allowing troopers to properly adjust their sleep schedules to fix the shifts. The smartest decision made in Sarasota was to allow permanent mids. They had volunteers and it worked well until the TC at the time decided, with no explanation, to end them.
Hypertension and other associated risks would decrease with normalcy.
It would be great to have permanent midnight shidts, as that would have the least amount of impact on troopers as a whole.
For those on the 6p-6a shift, you won't be there for too long. Seniority has traditionally had very little meaning with FHP so at least allow those who have put in the years a chance to get something for their efforts.
The 12 hour shifts do allow for more time off.
As for the efforts to make a positive change, it should be welcomed and not despised. Assignment could be based on seniority preference. There's little justification that those just joining FHP should have the same benefits, pay and schedule as those working here for 15 years. The chance to at least bid for preferred hours encourages those experienced to stay. To those just joining, you are valued but you have to put in your time.
People call out sick on mids for a reason. Many times, they are sick due to the fact that every third month their bodies cannot adjust to mids. It's normal. For those in the troop, I hope it works.

Wait until you start having to appear in court on your days off, and those on the 6p to 6a shift really get the shaft as they will always be going to court on their off duty hours be it a work day or their day off.

Five eight hour shifts worked fine for decades and it still works fine today.

KP go throw some bleach in that hot tub and give JR his balls back. Stop stirring the pot, retire and take your fat self to the gym. SR go do something useful instead of calling for x94 every 3 seconds and get off of Facebook. No one even put likes on your stupid posts. These three are a cancer
