That's because we have certain Troopers and Sergeants that always callout sick on midnights. Just transfer out, the place sucks anyways.

Shift
lieutenant is a micromanager who wants to be like the north. captain doesn't know what his people want so he follows the clueless lieutenant.

What’s so bad about that? 12 hour shifts means more time off

Every rookie including Sgt will be 6p to 6a. Sick time will increase and transfers will increase, no one will want to work permanent mids is a family breaker. Just ask the captain if he ever worked a midnights in his career. He spent his whole career in specialty units with weekends off, he could care less. He doesn't know what it feels like to be awake past 11pm.
I speak for Gideons and Cardwell, they both never worked a midnights in their life. Good luck with dui, no one will do a damm thing if you stick us on 6p to 6a

Stop crying like little girls. We signed up to be cops knowing that we were gonna be working holidays, weekends; AND midnight shifts for years to come. I know many officers from other departments who work 12's because it gives them much more time off to be home with their families. Get out of your 1970s ways of thinking and give the shifts a damn shot! Geesh! You guys will cry again years down the line when they decide to change you all back to 8's.
