We need to get out from under the FDC. We'd be better off without that distraction circus. Let the Governor choose a Director for 10 year term. No more retirees. Eliminate the bureaucrats and the other useless positions. We need people who can manage a caseload and more support staff. Stop wasting money on leasing. Buy local agency retired vehicles instead of auction wrecks. Carrying a firearm would be mandatory upon hire. Everyone else could be grandfathered in. Streamline training and end the 24 7 365 training schedule. None of this will happen, unfortunately.

I agree with all you said except 1. I still have faith that it could with the right people in place. None of which are in power now. It is an absolute must that we get out from underneath the Prison. Its an absolute must that all Administrators (including CA's be dismissed). CA's could be reassigned as a Supervisor or Specialist. Deputy CA needs to be eliminated. All of Region and above need replaced. I know for a fact that these plans are already in writing and have been placed in a certain candidates hands. Hopefully we will have light at the end of the tunnel.

If any candidate articulates that kind of vision they will have my vote.

Everyone in my Circuit think that Jones and Nimer have been the best throughout the years. I just think you have trouble with female leadership. Maybe that is why you are still in your mommy's house.

With that logic, JPO's are then law enforcement because they got pay raises and so are public defenders.

This low education low expectation and avoid getting involved shit has got to go. Its embarrassing.
ALL the newbies in my office are planning their exit strategy, its incredible. Half of my office has part time jobs just to survive. I'm sure its like this all over the state. Jones can't leave soon enough, she is horrible.

Well you are a fool then. From day 1 when Nimer was basically rushed through an Academy (because she was never an Officer) P&P has declined.

    1) Failure to understand what we are supposed to be doing
    2) Failure to adequately communicate to the Legislature needs for our own safety
    3) Failure to communicate with her Officer's
    4) Inadequate financing (everyone seems to be getting raises, but not us and not 1 word is said about it)
    5) Reactive Management ( We are not Law Enforcement until something goes wrong, then we should have, blame the Officer)
    6) A failed strategy (Re-entry is a total failure) we continue to lie about recidivist rates to get grant money
    7) Poor planning ( Our budget request have been the same every year -- "we are good we need nothing"
    8 ) No vision for P&P
    9) Its all about you (you should have understood on day 1 you know nothing about this business and backed out. instead you chose to keep giving your self a raise)
    10) Lack of ethics and poor integrity--- Your husband was Vice President of 3M and we were the biggest customer in the US of the monitoring equipment (this had to be a conflict)
    11) Not listening (you know you are a poor leader when you don't know what you are doing but don't listen to leadership that does)

This could go on and on. All said it's close to being over. However, how many offender's committed violent acts or how many children became new victims of sex crimes because we are more interested in pp90's, "thinking for a change class", COPS accounting and being mentors for dangerous criminals. You forgot, our job is to protect people first and foremost. When your told in a staff meeting that we want to move away from our law enforcement role,,,, Well that's a big problem and people get hurt over this. Numerous complaints have been made to FDLE over our failure to act, failure to assist local Leo and just plain not doing our job. Massive changes will be on the horizon and it didn't need to be this way. I expect P&P will have totally new leadership and perhaps not even be under the Prison. However, first and foremost we need to repair the damage that has been done by an inexperienced, unethical Administration. Pasco County brought this to public attention several years ago and this was just the tip of the ice berg.

I'm still in my momma's house because I'm broke. I only had two pay raises in 12 years. Yes, they have done a fantastic job!
