    TPD Carjacking Pursuit

This is a public apology to all the officers involved in the carjacking pursuit where one of your officers was struck. The road deputies wanted to help but HCSO command refused your call for assistance. We are embarrased to say the least. Multiple deputies were in a position to throw stop sticks. Thank goodness Polk SO and Lakeland PD have some guts. Time for change folks this cant continue with this group in place. I dont even feel like a cop anymore.

We're not cops anymore.... We are now officially "Criminal Resource And Political Officer Notation Specialists" (CRAP-ONS)

Basically, the philosophy is if TPD started it, TPD can finish it and no one will get demoted or punished. It's better to CYA than risk doing police work. It sucks knowing you and several others could have stopped it, but were told not to get involved. It sucks that the decision allowed yet another person to be a victim of those thugs in Polk County. I haven't felt like a cop in many years.

Good thread. Many years ago my squad was involved in something like this and it ended up in Polk. They patched our station with polk and let me tell you, those guys did not play. They handled in 2 min what took us 30 min. The second we crossed the Polk border, that persuit was done. Even their radio transmissions sounded like real bad ass experienced cops. Cursing and everything. Our radio transmissions sounded like a bunch of scared kids with the bosses yelling and screaming. We are a joke. Every agency around us knows our reputation. This is why the hood is leaving Tampa and going to the outskirts. We need real men. Real cops to run this place. Leaders that know our jobs so well, that they know exactly how to explain and defend our actions. Time to stop catering to the lawyers.

You know, for an agency that's so fucckking scared of "How will we look?" ... we look pretty shittty when we refuse to help other agencies stop crimes in progress that come to our jurisdiction!

It all goes back to the chief running this place like a business where the lawyers are in charge. When is he leaving ? This is why the rank n file have no confidence in this administration. Look how bad we look when we stand by when our brother n sisters are in a dangerous situation in our county n we do nothing. Embarrassing
