I hear we will get a 10 percent pay raise. Better than no raise.
Every year, FHP gripes about troopers leaving due to low pay.

Re
We don’t need a pay raise, working crashes is easy. Even animals at the zoo can do this job. So technically we really aren’t worth as much as we think we are. Look at the plus side, we have decent benefits.

Raise
We are going to get a raise because this year is when the health insurance is going to change to the tiered plan. We are going to pay a lot more for what we have. The raise is just to ease the pain when they slip it in.

We will be lucky to receive any pay raise. The legislators are complaining of a short fall due to Erma and refuse to dip into our rainy day fund. There is no companion bill in the Senate for the House side bill (42,000, 4,000 + 200). The Senate's 7% percent bill has no companion bill in the House. The answer will be we tried and we might get 5%. On the positive side the Governor being on his way out, could just threaten to veto all their BS bills they file to get the Senate to go along with his House bill.

The only way is to vote the opposite party in office. I am not saying it will help but you have to send a message and that message is state employees, their friend, and family are voters too.
If we fail to do this because you can only vote R then it will be status quo. Just watch and see.
