Chief Colina should implement a covert strategy, in concert with the Miami Dade School Police, one that models The Federal Air Marshal Service. Covert officers deploy to detect, deter and defeat hostile acts against students, teachers and administrative support personnel. A deputy sheriff or police officer in uniform; armed with the M4 carbine may be the first target the active shooter spots and takes out. In a dynamic school environment, it is highly likely the uniform officer might not be able to immediately spot and identify the prospective active shooter, before the active shooter opens up on him. Conversely, the active shooter, for obvious visual identification can instantly identify the uniformed, M-4 armed officer. In these rapidly evolving situation, as is an active shooter, every effort must be made to give the covert police officer the element of surprise, if but for seconds.

It's a joke that in the times we live in not all officers have AR-15's in their cars. Supplied by the city. However, it will never happen this department is too concerned with "liabilities" and not concerned enough with actually protecting the citizens, or ensuring that officers have adequate protection. Everybody forgets the huge shoot out in LA where officers where out gunned and had to rush into a gun store and "borrow" AR-15's. For goodness sakes we don't even have shotguns assigned to officers! When the city purchased all these nice black shotguns they made us turn in the old Remington 870's. Then they made the process to check out a shot gun a royal pain ensuring that officers wouldn't bother. Those shot guns are now somewhere in property collecting dust. MPD is too concerned with "what's in it for me?" or "what ass do I kiss to get ahead?" the least of the concerns is actual police work. This new chief will do absolutely nothing positive for the department. He will simply ham it up for the cameras, say all the politically correct things and fatten his bank account. Please don't believe for one second in the few years he's chief he will do anything to better the department. Colina is all talk and pretends to be your best friend and says all the right things, but he's just like the last 2 chiefs and in it for himself. At least he's not a raging alcoholic ***** addict.

Trump wants more guns at the school to make the NRA happy or else they will resend the millions in campaign money. So more guns for teachers that will have minimal training.
And you have to go in looking for an unknown gun man that may be the description of a teacher with a back up Ofc that may be some of the idiots we have here Wow
