And lets not forget another comment she made that cpo's are over worked with caseloads of 70 cases. Hey Kim, I am a CPO and my caseload is well over 100 active. If she is our only hope, we are so screwed. Time for many of us to look elsewhere.
Let me tell you about Kim. She exhausted all stats so she either made one misstatement or in the case of caseloads, she was talking about specialists. Kim spent hours upon hours on her OWN DIME AND TIME fighting for officers. You couldn’t find a more intelligent president or a more humble servant in it for all. She made sure any accurate pay study went to all legislators every year and got tons of media which you don’t do if you don’t have accurate information. She did all this when she didn’t even have a position in a union.

And in the end, Kimmie got us nothing. So what does all of her work tell us? It tells us that she has no idea what the hell she us doing. And for her blind work, we get nothing. Here is what you need to remember. Practice does not make it perfect. Perfect practice makes it prefect. She has no idea what she is doing!

As long as you all continue to but faith in PBA then you are losers. They do not give a damn about the probation officers how much more evidence do you need then what they allowed for last year where guards got more than probation . How does that even make sense when we require the Bachelors degree ? They also allowed the rookie Probation officers to get a higher raise then the long term officer. Oh yeah they said consider this pay raise as a down payment on what they are getting probation officers in 2018. Oh that is happening for sure as you can see. The are sleeping with the dept, who was it that said lets pay the rookies more and maybe we can keep them, oh JOnes . Who said pay the guards more and maybe we can keep them, Jones. PBA got her what she wanted not us .

What the PBA is getting this year is for local pension police officers, retired folks, and that is it . Oh wait I can see it coming Hurricane Irma caused this mess . Nope Hurricane Tammy and the PBA want your money and you get nothing. What a Joke . I would not join them until they prove they care about the probation side of the unit. Losers .

We lost 2 officers in my office this month. 1 to federal probation. The other to county corrections.

No one cares about the Probation Officers in this state. Pba don't care. FDOC don't care. Julie don't care. And Scott don't care.

]Two months ago we lost three CPO on the same day , all to the local jails. They walked out the door and received a 10,000 raise . This month we lost one to a local police department. She left and made 12,000 raise. The sink is sinking and we need to Sheriff to take it over.

I was a Probation Officer for over 19 years and after a ton of back and forth with myself I finally decided to leave and venture into the private sector. I was always holding out hope that we would be taken care of after being screwed over for so many years. This past year I just had enough and decided I owed it to myself to go somewhere where would be appreciated and paid what I thought I was deserving of. I lived pay check to pay check like most do that worked in our department. I really held out hope that things would change but they really seemed like it was just getting worse. Losing the schedule flexibility, the crappy state cars that were never really addressed, and the horrible officers that were promoted to supervisors basically because the good officers never wanted to get promoted due to all the bs that came with taking a promotion. Anyway before the negative responses start let me just say no need for it what I am saying is what all of us are thinking. Some might be in the spot that I was in and think after spending 19 years why not just make it to 26. Well I can say I found a job starting at $50,000 with the opportunity to make a lot more with bonuses and other incentives. Yes bonuses which was a foreign word to me until I accepted this spot. So for all of us there is something out there better if looking. Just have to dig deep and make whatever decision is best for you! My advice is if you stay take advantage of the state and get your Master's degree and move on. They take advantage of you so why not take advantage of what you can on them! Sadly it will never get better as long as the leadership remains the same and that starts at the office level. I will always be fighting for all Probation Officer's even though I no longer work as one with the hopes that maybe I can do more on the outside than I could on the inside. I tell everyone I meet how Probation Officer's are not taken care of like they should be! Be safe out there!!
