    Larry Lawrence is an embarrassment

You can thank Sgt. (now LT) Larry Lawrence for that atrocity of a decision. Road Troopers where requesting to go to the scene to assist, some as close as being on OBT, but we’re told by Lawrence ‘No, there are crashes holding.’ The issue here is a lazy supervisor sitting at the station worrying about response times to S4’s as opposed to assisting other agency’s requesting X24. Absolute joke. But instead of reprimanding or terminating him for his incredibly poor judgment, he gets promoted. Trust me, if given the chance and information, road Troopers would flock to an active shooter/ assist another agency. It’s certain supervisors who have forgotten why we all do this job. I know of many other supervisors who not only whould have sent every Trooper X8 but would have dropped whatever they were doing and gone to the scene themselves. It’s a shame when one idiot gives us all a bad name.

    Step one:

Eliminate all specialty positions, except K9

    Step two:

Make LT's shift Commanders and have all Cpl/Sgt/1st Sgt assigned to the road....everyday

    Step three:

Require all personnel to be in full uniform while in agency vehicle and require them to handle ALL calls for service if they are within incident area regardless of rank all the way to the top!
Why have you put so much importance on K-9's... MMMMM

Lies. The fact that there was an active shooter was never given to the road units working that night. Someone asked what OPD units were responding to, and dispatch came over the radio saying OPD was responding to a shooting. Shootings happen every night in the craphole that is Orlando, so it was believed to be business as usual.

It was actually put out over the intracity net as shooting in progress and officer involved. What you dispatch chose to do with it and the supervisors involved is another story.. But it was most def sent out to everyone as SHOOTING IN PROGRESS multiple people down officer involved.

You own PIO admitted this and that you guys screwed up....

Its really funny over 20 other LEO agencies came and got the message correctly but yet the elite FHP couldn't figure it out?? But there were sig 4's holding so it was probably best you guys stuck to those..

On a good note FHP did provide traffic control while REAL LEO's did an investigation..

As I said, that message wasn't relayed to the Troopers on the road. We don't have access to intercity in our cars. Dispatch does. If you want to bust on us, fine. I guarantee you if the message had gotten through, we would have been there with everyone else. I was less than 2 miles away when it went down.

The ball was dropped no doubt. It was dropped by the comm center.
