Do not give in to trolls. Speak your peace. Explose the political BS and favoritism. Make the new people aware that there is no positive feedback or reward for us nobodies. Ignore anyone that attempts to derail the thread or attempts to make us sink to their level. Just dont respond back. These trolls will learn how it all works with enough time when they get screwed over. See, they are still being strung along. They are more than likely working hard towards a perceived goal. A light at the end of the tunnel that are these miserable front line positions. Our discussions threaten the very reason why they come in early, miss lunch, go home late, put their families second to this job, and risk full burn out. We expose the fact that.... it may be all for nothing. Except a paycheck. A paycheck that deserves 100% effort and NOTHING more. That means not coming to work late, but not a minute early either, and so on.... For the trolls that are drinking the Kool Aid, nothing we can say will convince them, so just ignore them.

Yup! You said it! Just a bunch of new people flying blind and working towards false goals over writting and over doing everything inifficiently while coming from a place of fear and CYA. Also, there is absolutely no reward or recognition for being one of few senior officers that can actually solve issues on scene calmly without dragging their bosses into them efficiently without a bunch of nonesense paper and uses of force. No one cares how good of a cop you are. Its all about stats and anount of paper instead of true conflict resolution and investigative skills. In the end, there is no point of staying other than the pay. Not pride. You work hard while new. Then take one of two paths. Wake up, realize its BS, and leave while you are still young, or give up and become a slug just to be able to mentaly tolerate all the BS for the next decade or two. Its sad to see these young rookies over reacting to everything dispatch says like its 100% true. They have no instict. There is no calm centered grounded professional energy. Just everyone running around like roaches. Not professional at all. Sad.

I'd be more worried about Gov. Scott's mandate for SRO's in all schools by next school year (August). That's probably 100 or so deputies that will need to be assigned to a school. We can't afford to lose 1 deputy on the street since we are running a skeleton crew and can't cover the call volume as it is right now. I wonder what their plan is going to be?
